In 1996, Judd Brown began a relationship with Robert Scott,
a well-established and respected architect. From this relationship,
Jefferson Group Architects (JGA) was born in 1996. Jefferson
Group Architects joined in a strategic alliance with Judd
Brown Designs to be elevated to one of the top architectural
firms in the country. This alliance enabled each firm to offer
unparalleled service and professionalism in a full array of
services.
Over the past 20 years, Jefferson Group Architects and JBD
have assisted each other in completing myriad projects in
the hospitality and related fields. Jefferson Group Architects'
staff of design professionals has created a multitude of award-winning
architectural concepts in cooperation with Judd Brown Designs
as well as various other renowned design firms throughout
the world. Jefferson Group Architects' range of hospitality
and country club capabilities include building surveys and
evaluations, architectural and interior design, graphics and
logo design, kitchen design and coordination, menu design,
HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination, furniture,
furnishings, and equipment purchasing and coordination, and
décor and accessory selection.
For country and dining club clients, Jefferson Group Architects
together with JBD, has become one of America's premiere Country
Club Planning and Design consultants, providing the nation's
clubs with a complete array of services to assist the membership
and management in the development and presentation of Membership
Surveys and Facility Master Plans as well as subsequent plan
implementation programs.

Judd Brown,
A.S.I.D.
Director of Design
Judd founded JBD in 1983 after working
as the head of design for Jan Companies'
62-unit restaurant chain. Brown is a graduate
of the architecture department at Arizona
State University, and has completed additional
studies at the Boston Architectural Center
and Harvard University. He is a member
of the American Society of Interior Designers
(A.S.I.D.), and is a recipient of their
annual design award from the New England
chapter and recently received international
recognition winning the 2002 Trends/ASID
design award. Interior Design Magazine
has also recognized Brown’s work
in 11 of the past 13 years as Design Giant.
Brown's award winning and revenue generating
designs come as the result of a solid
academic foundation and years of design
work, combined with significant experience
in the field of restaurant management
where he developed a true appreciation
for the ergonomic and economic implications
of restaurant design.

Steven T. McMahon,

Vice President
Thirteen years after co-founding JBD in
1983, Mr. McMahon began splitting his
time with Jefferson Group Architects after
its formation in 1996. Altogether, he
has been Project Manager responsible for
major projects in New York, New Jersey,
Florida, and throughout New England. Since
1996, he has held and continues to hold
the position of Vice President of Jefferson
Group Architects, being actively involved
as a Planner, Architectural Designer and
Senior Budget Analyst as well as acting
as Senior Project Executive on all Jefferson
Group Architects’ large scope projects.
